Luz Maria Rodriguez, 36, is the mother of two children and is expecting her third.
Originally from Ubaté, she is in love with her country and since she was very young she developed a passion for handcrafting. Coming from a family of peasants, she started to knit with her grandmother who used to collect traditional garments.
In order to re-establish ties between her region’s inhabitants and to give work to women in the country, Luz Maria created in 2003 The Artisans Association of Sutatausa. Her role is to coordinate the women’s work, to organize projects and to train and recruit new artisans. WARMI exists thanks to her devotion and her invaluable collaboration.
